There are a ton of all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, so you won’t be short of places to choose from for your next vacay.
The Dominican Republic is one of the most popular destinations for all-inclusive getaways. There are resorts for every different style of vacation. From family vacays to adults-only experience and everything in between there are loads of resorts in each category.
The Dominican Republic is a great place for an all-inclusive getaway as the value you get at resorts is a little bit better compared to vacationing in Mexico or Jamaica.
The turquoise waters and stunning beaches are also a serious draw for vacationers. The biggest area in question when it comes to resorts in the Dominican is the standard of food.
At InspoVacay we have reviewed and compiled the top resorts in Punta Cana for food, so you don’t have to. So, check out our top resorts below.
5. Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana
Price – $$
Category – Family Friendly
Another resort that only recently opened in 2020. This family-friendly resort is situated on one of the best beaches we have seen at the resorts we have visited. As this is a Dreams resort you can make the most of their Sip, Savor, and See benefit that allows you to dine at sister AMResorts properties in the area.
Sadly there are no Secrets resorts within the same complex, but there are two Secrets resorts a short drive away that you can use this feature at. The Secrets Royal beach is a 30-minute drive away and the Secrets Cap Cana is a 50-minute drive from Macao Beach resort.

The food selection and consistency were quite good. The litmus test for an all-inclusive is always their buffet offering. The world cafe, which is the Dream’s main offering was very good. The food offering was varied with new dishes each day. The quality of the produce was clear to see.
The only area in which we were a little disappointed was the quality of the room service. It didn’t match the same standard as the specialty restaurants or the buffet. Overall, for its price point its still a decent option.
4. Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana
Price – $$
Category – Family Friendly resort
Opened in 2019, this is still a relatively new resort. The resort is a nice size with around 300 rooms. So, it’s not an overwhelmingly large resort.
The resort is located right next to another Hyatt. The Zilara Cap Cana is an adults-only resort that is located within the same complex. So, if you are looking for an adult-only experience with a very similar food offering, then we recommend checking it out.
If you are traveling with a family this is the best resort in Punta Cana for amenities. The water park here is super large. They even have a lazy river. Even adults can enjoy it.
In terms of food, its overall standard is very high. One of the things we loved about the Hyatt Ziva was how extensive their food offering is. If you have any special requirements. The Hyatt is superb at catering for you. Whether you are vegan, celiac, or on a keto diet, they have options for everyone. Which is fantastic to see.
Chinola was our favorite spot in the Hyatt. Located right next to the ocean. It’s the perfect spot for a refreshing breakfast or a candlelight beachside dinner. They offer healthy food options and their tuna tataki on a guacamole salad is a must-try.

3. Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana
Price – $$$
Category – Boutique resort
Zoëtry resorts are known for being boutique luxury resorts that cater to adult-only experiences. Their Punta Cana location is an intimate resort with just 96 suites. This means that the experience feels super personal and the resort never feels overcrowded. Given the smaller size of the resort, it means there is less choice of restaurants, but the restaurants that are on the resort are of a very high standard.

That being said there are still 4 options to choose from which is a really good ratio of restaurants to guests. There are Italian, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and International cuisines to choose from. As well as room service and the CoCo Cafe which serves up sandwiches, pastries, ice creams, and coffee.
Olena is the pick of the bunch. This Italian spot serves up some lovely traditional Italian dishes. The fried ravioli is the standout dish and a must-try and Olena.
The room service here is also very consistent and a standout for an all-inclusive.
2. Finest Punta Cana
Price – $$$$
Category – Family Friendly with Adults only areas

This is the other resort that is part of the Excellence brand and is another top-notch offering. This 5-star family-friendly resort only opened in 2021, so everything here feels brand new.
The food offered at the Finest is solid. There are 10 restaurants on offer and if you have stayed at a Finest resort before. You will be familiar with the offering. They have pretty much every cuisine imaginable and the standard of food put out is really strong. The main buffet is the Market Kitchen and similar to the Excellence Punta Cana it’s one of the best we have eaten at.

Our top choice from the a la carte restaurants has to be Shoji, the Japanese offering. The Sushi here is some of the best we have had at any all-inclusive resort. The fish is fresh and the rolls are delicately prepared with a great flavor profile. There is also a Teppanyaki experience here too, but be sure to book it early in your stay as places are limited.
We also recommend trying out Dukes. The location of this restaurant is what makes it, but when you couple it with the lovely seafood menu you’re on to a winner.
The room service here is also very consistent and a standout for an all-inclusive.
1. Excellence Punta Cana
Price – $$$
Category – Adults-only Resort

The Excellence chain of resorts is our favorite brand of all-inclusive resorts and two of the locations are featured on our list today. Every single time we have visited an Excellence resort, there has been a level of luxury that few other resort brands can compete with. The Excellence Punta Cana is one of the more affordable locations from the Excellence collection.
The food selection at the Excellence is really strong. The resort is on the larger side with 461 on offer. Although it doesn’t feel like that with the resort’s luxurious standard. It genuinely feels like a boutique resort with a level of service and consistency in the food.
There are 11 spots that serve food at the Excellence as well as room service that is included in the all-inclusive package. Our favorite spots were Spice, which is a Pan Asian offering that serves Sushi, Ramen, pad thai, and curries to name a few dishes. Spice also has a few Hibachi tables which make for a really entertaining evening.
The Kitchen Table, which is the main buffet at the resort, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The variety here is really good and all of the food tasted fresh. It was one of the best buffets we have experienced.
